BARNACLE BILL's underwater hull cleaning service uses the Phosmarine Hull Cleaning System and POWERDIVE® surface demand breathing equipment. It is revolutionary in the Denia area in that it allows a hull to be thoroughly cleaned without the need to remove the boat from the water.
The SEA BRUSH hydraulic set is particularly adapted to clean ship hulls up to 150 m long. This set is built with engine elements supplying the power brushing machine needs. The brushing machine belongs to the 500 DS type, self-propelled, two-way rotation, automatic sticking, applying, when on the run, a 180 kg thrust on the brush, avoiding any overstrain to the operator. The adaptable brushes are 300 mm in diameter, in rilsan, soft or strong steel and stainless steel.
The coaxial pipe connecting the set to the brush measures 100 m. The cleaning is of excellent quality due to the powerful thrust exerted on the brush by its rotation, coupled with the fact that the two way drive prevents the bristles from leaving their vertical position.
The SEA BRUSH will not remove antifouling commercial paints as we use either the polypropylene or nylon brush head. This is a marine approved system used world-wide for hull cleaning so keeping the hull free from marine growth, driving down fuel costs and improving performance. It also gives the boat owner peace of mind because any existing hull damage or problems will be identified as the hull is cleaned and brought to the owner's attention.
We use POWERDIVE® surface breathing equipment which eliminates the need for the diver to have to change diving tanks (sets) half way through a job. There is also no chance of damage to the hull from diving tanks (sets).
All diving will be from the jetty. The diver will only be under the boat being worked on and will never be more than 1 meter from the vessel, so keeping clear of any other moving vessels. All vessels berthed next to the vessel being cleaned will be informed that there is a diver in the water. The cleaning process will not interfere with any other vessels' movements.
A DIVE FLAG conforming to the standards shown below will be supplied by Barnacle Bill's for the duration of the cleaning process. Any boat with divers operating from it must always display the daytime signal to inform other boat users. The daytime signal for divers is an International Code Flag "A". The flag must be at least 750mm long and 600mm wide. The flag may be displayed from a buoy. If displayed from a buoy the flag must not be less than 300 mm in length and 200 mm in width. The flag must be clearly visible to all vessels operating in the vicinity.
Barnacle Bill's supplies a Surface Attendant who is fully First Aid trained and who will be present at all times. All diving is in line with the Harmonised Diving Standards in Europe as documented by the European Diving Technology Committee.
The flag may be displayed from a buoy. If displayed from a buoy the flag must not be less than 300 mm in length and 200 mm in width. The flag must be clearly visible to all vessels operating in the vicinity.
What proof will there be that the cleaning has been completed to a satisfactory standard?
Barnacle Bill's will take before and after photos of the hull. Should the boat owner wish to keep a hard copy of the photos a small cost will be added to cover the cost of photo paper and printing.
